Cut for your measurements, not the nearest size

Ethnic, couture, western and everyday, every piece cut for one woman by a designer of thirty years. Studio in Faridabad, home visits anywhere in Delhi NCR.

Couture is not a price tag. It is how the piece is treated.

A weekday kurta and a bridal lehenga get the same thing here: measured to your body, cut for you, finished by hand. That standard is what the word is supposed to mean.

The fitting method

From the first message to the final fitting

1

Enquiry

Tell her the occasion, your date and roughly what you want to spend. She replies on WhatsApp herself, normally within one working day.

2

Consultation

At the studio in Faridabad, or at your own home. Fabric, silhouette and detail decided together, and you are measured.

3

First fitting

Cut and tried on as a draft, then pinned and adjusted on your body. A size chart cannot do this step and a rail never will.

4

Final delivery

Hand finished, tried on once more, and yours. Adjustments at this stage are part of the work, not an extra.

What will it cost?

There is no price list. Say what you want to spend in your first message and she will tell you what is possible within it.

How long will it take?

Weeks rather than days, and longer for bridal than for a kurta. Say your date and she will tell you straight away whether it is realistic.

What she makes

Bridal and occasion at one end, everyday kurtas and sarees at the other. The same fitting method sits behind all of it.

These are reference images showing the kind of work Adoria takes on, not photographs of her own finished pieces. Her own photography is being shot now. In the meantime, ask on WhatsApp and she will send you photographs of recent work.

Worth knowing

What a designer does that a tailor cannot

If you have ever had something stitched locally and it came back almost right, this is the part that was missing. It is also the difference between a piece that looks made for you and one that looks made in a hurry.

Design, not just stitching

A tailor executes what you describe. Abhilashaa decides the silhouette, the fabric and the detail with you first, then cuts it. That is the part you cannot brief.

Fitted on you, more than once

Measured, cut, tried on as a draft, then pinned and adjusted on your body. Not one measurement and a hope.

Finished by hand

Finishing is where a garment either looks made to order or looks homemade. Thirty years is mostly this.

The designer

Abhilashaa Pattnaik

Thirty years of fitting clothes for women, and she still does every part of it herself: the design, the measuring, the cutting and the last stitch. You deal with the designer, not with a counter.
